Ricoh Welcomes OPS
We are proud to announce that Office Printing Solutions are now approved partners and service agents of Ricoh UK Limited.
As we have always been a forward thinking business, intent on staying at the cutting edge of our industry, it was always our intention to become a multi manufacturer supplier. We feel this would help us keep our eye on the whole of market developments rather than risk getting almost blinkered by one manufacturer.
We spent several weeks talking to several large manufacturers before approaching Ricoh UK. The reasons we chose Ricoh were amongst other things, their strong heritage in customer focused technical excellence, together with their massive commitment to research and development that seems to keep their constantly evolving range of products at the forefront of the reprographics industry.
This strategic partnership also gives us access to a wealth of point of sale resources, such as their fully kitted showroom at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, which is conveniently located only 20 min’s drive from our offices.
Now that we have settled into our new offices at Cosby we felt that this was the right time to secure this partnership, and we now look forward together with Ricoh and our other partners to building on what has already been a very exciting start to 2011.
Our New look Website
Regular visitors to our old website will probably have noticed there hadn’t been a lot of changes over the last twelve months, and things were starting to get out of date. This was due to a couple of reasons.
- We have been so preoccupied with other important developments in the business like appointing Simon our Service Director and getting him settled in, moving premises and another big development that we’re hoping to announce in the next few weeks. Watch this space!
- For the last few weeks we have been building this, our new look website, that now we have finally got it up and running we hope it will become a useful tool in dealing with OPS.

Our New “PEPS” Contract
OPS have always been a forward thinking organisation that isn’t afraid to take the lead where they see an opportunity. It is with this in mind that we are very pleased to announce the launch of our “Peripheral Equipment Protection Schedule” or PEPS for short. This an all new way of offering some piece of mind to the end user on the peripheral equipment around the office that isn’t usually covered by any service contracts. Equipment like fax machines, laser printers, shredders, scanners, booklet makers etc, OPS have found that with this relatively low priced equipment when it goes wrong the customer has a hard decision to make, pay for an engineer to come out and hope they can fix it at what ever call out and labour charge they levy or throw it away and buy new. None of which are very appealing, even if your device is still under manufacturers warranty this can still mean boxing it up and sending it back to the manufacturer for repair which leaves you without the equipment crucial to the operation of your business. Well here at OPS we have the answer we can cover all of these different devices from between £3 and £5 per month per machine, depending on how many machines you wish to cover. Having launched this new contract initially to our existing customer base we have been so overwhelmed by the interest and take up that we are now in a position to roll it out to the rest of you. Another Prestigious Partnership
We are pleased to announce that we are now the main supplier of reprographic equipment to Best Western Ullesthorpe Court Hotel & Golf Club based in Ullesthorpe in south Leicestershire. This iconic Hotel is situated on an estate dating back to the Domesday book. It is a popular wedding venue as well as providing excellent facilities for golf breaks and leisure and beauty breaks in their well equipped facility. The Leisure Club houses a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, solarium, sauna & steam room and a well equipped, air-conditioned gym. Paul Burgess, Operations Director said he was impressed with the assistance he received in terminating his existing contract, which made for a seamless switch to OPS. We’re on the move again!
Despite a resounding declaration of “Never Again” after moving into our premises in Wigston by Brian and the rest of the team, OPS are on the move again!
When Office Printing Solutions was formed in February 2007 we began trading from Swan Street on Frog Island in Leicester, we quickly out grew these premises despite expanding into the unit next door. The decision was made to look for larger more suitable premises to operate from. It was a difficult task, as we were entering a global down turn, to find somewhere that we wouldn’t out grow too quickly but also keeping a very close eye on overheads. We finally settled on West Avenue Wigston which with a bit of work would treble our office space and double our warehouse and workshop area. This we thought would be home for a good few years to come.
However with a lot of hard work and the strategic appointment of Simon our new Service Director, we are again struggling for space. So at the end of May this year the hunt was on for even bigger premises. We are very pleased to announce that we have found the ideal location in Cosby a little village just south of Whetstone Leicester. This unit not only trebles our overall square footage but also has a lot of expansion opportunities while remaining on the same site. So as of 5th July 2010 Office Printing Solutions will be trading from Unit 9 Coates Yard, Cosby, Leicester LE9 1UW a place we hope to call home for a good few years to come.
New Service Director
A warm welcome to Simon Bickell our new Service Director. Simon, who has more than 15 years’ experience of the office machinery market, joins the business from City Digital (East Midlands) in Coalville.
Managing director Brian Lawrence, who founded Office Printing Solutions initially in Leicester three years ago, said the appointment marked an important strategic move for the company.
He said: “Having Simon with his vast experience in the industry heading up our service department will greatly expand our range of services, allowing us to respond more quickly to any issues or problems customers might have.
Brian added: “Simon is well known for his more than capable technical experience in the office equipment market as well as having the experience to support and manage a team of engineers, Simon is the obvious choice as service director and will enable us to extend our reach and product range to both new and existing customers.”
